My next build may be this summer. I'll probably get the Phenom II because of the price. However if I can afford a Core i7 920 I'll get it.

The 940s are hitting 4GHz just on air, just have a look at the Phenom II OC threads at XS or OCforums.

Complete turnaround for Phenom. This is like R600 turning into RV770. Big congratz to AMD's engineers.

The i7's seem to perform better in non-gaming applications, where in games i7 and Phenom II are pretty close.

I've seen i7's at 4 Ghz on air, but boy are they hot.

If you think the reviews on these CPU's are good, wait for next month.

Next month the AM3 Phenom Cores are going to be released with Motherboards supporting DDR3! That's my next upgrade for me. New motherboard, RAM, CPU, and liquid cooling system for my CPU!
