Age Of Empires I and II, not sure about III, but the first two are excellent.

Ive always like Comand and conquer. Red alert 3 just came out a little ago and its good so far!

It's a "free" game. You just have to buy the discs, no monthly fees. It's like $25 for the battlechest.
