Problem with shutting off driver signing

I shut off driver signing and it still pops up when trying to install NFS:Most wanted and directx 9.0c. Haven't tried to install anything else but I'm sure it would do it. How can I get it to go away?

Assuming you have Vista (or Win7 beta)

How did you "shut it off"?

Did you boot into the F8 boot options screen and disable it there?

My computer>right click> hardware>driver signing. I also booted in safe mode and tried from the admin account same way. And I have XP.

XP, I'll have a look next time I fire an XP box up.

the "gpedit.msc" is coming up as typed incorrectly....
