I am trying to Unlock my IPhone 3G 8GB Black and i put my SIM in there and it fits but it says no service....

Is it nessary that i need to buy the SIM Unlock that they sell on
these websites?

You're best bet would be to just go to a small phone shop that has a good name for itself and get them to do it because i would'nt want to risk breaking it.
