help me figure out the problem so i dont have to reformat

ok im having major issues with my computer... this is the background that keeps comming up on the computer and that error message i cannot get rid of... please tell me if anyone knows what the hell this is... i would rather not reformat but if i have to i will... is there a way to activate the recovery partition of my hdd to restore it back to the original settings of when i first bought it

What is the model of your pc? Find out what key you press to access the recovery partition upon bootup.

is there a way to active my original recovery partition because i think the virus might have deleted some windows files

sorry about that lol... its a laptop, its a compaq presario v2718WM...

The compaqs and hp's have a 'hotkey' that when entered at bootup, will restore your system to factory settings using your hidden partition. It's usually F8.
