Does a bear poop in the woods??

I really don't know. It depends on if your CD writer is CD/DVD. Some can burn CDs and read DVDs, others can't. Just try it out or look at your driver and see if you see DVD on there. If your computer is like somewhat "new" as in this millennium it should be able to read DVDs.

Ummm

Is it a DVD reader/writer? Then I think not.
If your problem is that you have a PC game but you don't have a DVD Drive (Very common for people with old computers), DVD drives are only about 20 bucks now. You don't have to pay much to get one.

Try looking at the CD Drive. If it has a DVD Logo on it, it may work but I strongly doubt it. If a CD Writer could read DVD's it would be called a DVD Reader.

a strictly only CD reader can not read a DVD because the DVD data is "smaller" and laser on the CD reader can not read that "fine" of data...

atleast that would be my guess...
