have a virus that has disabled my task manager

i am the only administrator on my computer and i just recently got a virus that has disabled my task manager, when ever i try to pull it up, i get an error stating that the administrator has disabled the task manager

Scan your computer using an anti virus such as:
AVG or Avast!

Then try using Ad-Aware 2007 FREE and Spybot S&D.

Scan your computer using the above and remove all the infected files.

ok i have avast, scanned it, cleared the supposed virus'

downloaded Ad-Aware 2008 FREE, scanned, removed supposed infections...

task manager is still disabled, i dont know what is wrong...

This will work with XP Pro.

Click on 'Start' then 'Run...'.

Then type gpedit.msc and click on Ok.

In the window that appears double click the following folders...

User Configuration then Administrative Templates then System then Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options then Remove Task Manager.

Double click on Remove Task Manager and select 'Not Configured'.

This should do it.
