Being blamed for messing up internal usb ports!!!

is it possible to mess up (computer doesnt recognize) all the internal usb ports and whatever is connected to them like printer or ext.hard drive, by running a spyware checker and windows degrag?? I didn't erase any files..so my question, Was it me that messed up that computer??

go to start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager, and tellus what you see in the way of problems.

Usually it's hardware and software complications

Damn iPod to it sometimes to my front USB port(s)

Your device manager should list all your USB ports...if it doesn't, you have a problem. It should also list controllers.
