Not what I've seen. You're probably confusing VGA with something else.

I don't know a lot about DVI, HDMI, HDCP and VGA. So can someone please share their knowledge?

If your television is stretching the picture, it's probably because you're using a certain setting. Most televisions should preserve the correct resolution when using VGA as a source.

I know my Sony Bravia doesn't allow me to stretch the picture when I'm using VGA.
