In search of adequate RAM.

Hey guys,

I got an Intel Core i7 920 2.66 GhZ processor and a socket 1366 mobo for christmas so all that i need to get my machine running is RAM, (all of the rest of the stuff that i need is at UPS waiting for pickup.) and i was wondering if anyone knew of an affordable RAM kit for the Core i7 all the ones that i look at on the internet are waaaaaaaaaaaay out of my budget or they don't say if the will support i7 so if anyone had any ideas of where i could get at least 3GB of RAM on the cheap (i already looked on ebay they didn't have anything.) it would be much obliged. Also it has to be tri channel.

here is the "standard" DDR3 speed of 1600. If i was building a PC around an i7 than i WOULDNT get anything less than DDR3 1600, dont know how much of a performance increase there would be however. It would be like getting DDR2 667, just not fun for that extreme machine IMO

thats why i listed the cheap stuff and good stuff. Im just making sure he knows that there is a higher speed out there. I hate when people have to make a purchase like that with limited knowledge.

Also, any parent who gives an i7 and 1366 motherboard to their son for xmas (specially now-a-days) means that the guy isnt exactly "poor".
