dont forget to add shipping costs into that...as well as the 2 yr service plan

the highlights in mine are hdmi port, blu ray drive, wireless n, gfx card, and the 4gb ram

$500..yeah, ok, show me

It's a pretty good deal. HP are pretty good, both my uncle's have them. They are an awesome brand.

Where are you/did you get the laptop from?

i checked cyberpowerpc and they dont have anything better than what i have for a cheaper price, and how about that acer you were bragging about

any other opinions

I have an hp laptop almost like yours. HP pavilion dv5-1015nr. Only difference is that mine is Intel core 2 due 2.0 GHz and i have an NVIDIA GeForce 9200m GS video card. I got it from best buy, here in the states, for 1050$. I got it on a tax free weekend we had. I love it. I'm a college student, so the Blu-ray is awesome for my dorm. I have a blu-ray player on my laptop that i can hook up to a HD TV via HDMI. The HDMI port is a great plus. I've been an HP buyer for a while, they r my fav. brand. Im afraid to buy Acer, yeah they are cheaper, but i don't like to pay a lot for a computer from a brand im not so familiar with. Its a good laptop, but not a good gaming rig, not many laptops are. But you can run SOME of the new games on low/ok settings.
