How much thermal paste shouold I put on?

I'm going to install a CPU and a new fan into my computer. I was wondering how much paste(Arctic Silver 5) to put on this. Someone suggested in a review of Arctic silver 5 that I put 2 rice grain(uncooked ) size beads of it on the cpu or should I put it on the fan?

If you have a cooler with a flat base, apply about a BB sized amount in the centre of the IHS.

And AS5 FTL.

Do you know how much heat a 6400+ produces when you overclock it to 3.7GHZ????

What does IHS mean. Im pretty sure it means the base of the fan (the copper heat plate)?

yuki, hes using aftermarket stuff. when you buy a cpu with the heatsink there will be thermal paste on the heatsink, and when you buy a heat sink it too has thermal paste with it, but AS5 is like the top of the line stuff that us overclockers use.
