there isn't that much difference in price or performance IIRC...

here are the physical differences...

Stock 9800GT:
Core Clock - 600Mhz
Memory Clock - 1800Mhz
Stream Processors - 112

Stock 9800GTX
Core Clock - 675Mhz
Memory Clock - 2200Mhz
Stream Processors - 128

GTX has a higher core clock, memory clock and more stream processors...
