Keyboard/USB out after power surge

The power went out in my house last night. When the power came back on I realized that my USB keyboard did not work. I exchanged it for a new one. I plugged the new one in and it did not work either. I am using a PS/2 keyboard now.

I was thinking that it was the USB port but I tried it in another one and same result. Any one got ideas?

This has happened to me once but with wireless KB&M. I just kept rebooting and reconnecting the devices, took me like 5 times, just keep trying that, share the results. Any odd things happening on the computer?

Nah, nothing odd. The keyboard was the only thing that was odd.

Did you try rebooting a couple times?

I have found the problem. The surge fried 3 of my USB ports. My keyboard still works, but now I only have 1 USB port.

Darn! Look's like someone is going to have to get a PCI USB Port card...

Yep, I am going out tomorrow to buy one.
