You can also do it if you have some weird student card (at least you can in the UK).

I'm gonna get one so that i can have a LEGIT copy of VS2k8 Pro.

The OP used the old Bait-n-switch tactic. Of course Microsoft is NOT giving their software away for free. So...it's kinda pointless.

How do you tell if your school is enrolled? Besides asking the teachers.

Also, if this is free, couldnt people who are eligible to get the software send it to others?

although im at work im doing an NVQ which entitles me to a student card so i wonder if i could get anything.

it would save playing about with dodgy torrents.
