Amd Vs Intel

Why do that? Intel love making new sockets and the i7 doesn't even use the socket 775. At least if you go with the AMD the socket AM3 will be backwards compatible with the AM2 boards. Not that you get all the bells and whistls of the AM3 if you do that though. That's the way to look at it from an upgrade point.

775 was around for quite a while though.

People will continue to use 775 for a while longer. At least until the 1366 prices come down. Not many people will ever need anything more than a dual core until games begin using the quads fully.

Excactly,I Think Socket 775's will continue to be used until atleast next christmas when the prices should be low enough for the average joe to afford.

Don't forget socket 1160. That's what the Core i5's are gonna be using, and probably cheaper.

Ah, I'm going to pass on this one. I'll just wait for the i7 prices to come way down. Intel is really getting processor crazy. I'm thinking about an AMD x4 build. It's would be cheaper and easier to upgrade.
