USB 3.0 Almost here!

Oh, ok, thats true, I forgot about that. Is Sata measured in 300MBs or 300mbs?

Sata is confusing, SATAII is 300MB real throughput. But you also see SATAII referred to as 3.0Gb. In the later measurement, the command encoding overhead is present in this measurement, but when measured in MB the encoding is calculated out of the equation.

Read Test:

• 5000 files (300 MB total) FireWire was 33% faster than USB 2.0
• 160 files (650MB total) FireWire was 70% faster than USB 2.0

Write Test:

• 5000 files (300 MB total) FireWire was 16% faster than USB 2.0
• 160 files (650MB total) FireWire was 48% faster than USB 2.0

did your eyes fail you? you missed the 48% and 70% figures. look closer, they were more MB total too.

Why? So they could listen to their iPod while flying?

But you can't deny that USB is waay more popular and important than firewire. They don't make firewire flash drives..(well maybe they do but they're not nearly as common as the usb ones).

Anyway, usb is nice and durable. Firewire is so tiny and cracky that..well..ya..usb's better.

USB Is way better then firewire,and they should be making PCI USB 3.0 cards,Or atleast USB 3.0 PCIE Cards.
