I will need a new PSU no matter what so I'm not worrying about that but since lot of you are suggesting the 8800 is better than most of 9 Series, thats where I am focusing on to get the best deal in my budget.

I would not buy a recertified item. Plus, you'll only be saving around $10.

The 9800GT is basically a rebadged 8800GT. It performs slightly better in some cases to the 8800 series cards and much better than a 9600 series card.

that is true.. bench marks suggest that this card underperforms, on the other hand the newer(ish) 8800 gts with 512mb of ram and with the new G92 chipset, it runs pretty much anything you throw at it. i have the EVGA version of it. pre-oc'd and everything including a nice warranty
