hey,

i've tried WMP, Winamp, even vlc lol (also i dont have itunes....hate the program)

i was thinking of upgrading to 1 or 2gb of RAM but i dont want to splash out £20 - £30 if it isn't going to solve it.

How much do you reckon i'd be able to sell the laptop for if i cant fix this sound issue - because i dont really have a problem selling this and getting a refurbished one or something.

Try turning down the hardware acceleration in the system settings.

read - already know alot of the stuff. And the HA is already turned down in system settings......this is why i am so confused to the problem. I would simply to a fresh install but my laptop didnt come with xp media edition 2005 cd (came OEM) and i really dont have the money to buy it. I have the code for it but none of my friends have the same xp either.
