Please Review my i7 Build. Is everything right?

You Do realise i think you dont know what you are talking about?

For 1 thing,an addon soundcard sounds MUCH better than any on board will ever sound.

And Second,Having an added souncard does provide better performance in games,in X-Fi Sound card (the Higher models) people have been getting 3 - 10 FPS Increases because the CPU No longer has to work on processing the sound.

Lastly,When he installs the card and the software with it,he can disable the software and simply just use the windows audio control panel, drivers DONT use CPU usage what so ever.

Oh and joe,EVERYTHING is 110% Compatible :D

thanks! you are the most helpful people on this forum! I love you!

Uh, his first mistake is actually using this for games.

So, if you really want to spend an extra $100.00 for 3-10 FPS you most probably won't even notice. Be my guest. :) His GTX 260 is more than sufficient to power games. The average person can't tell the difference when its over 60 fps, anyways. So, unless he's trying to squeeze every fps he can. It's not worth it to spend $100.00 for, let's say 7 fps. You could have spent that $100.00 towards a gaming mouse or keyboard.

I don't seem to recall saying this processor was bad for gaming. It's just not good as other processors.

I'm trying to put the thread starter down. I think your build is going to be great. I was just trying to help you save a lot of money.

You do realize that there isn't much of a difference in speed? Since he already he has one of the best setups currently possible. The likelihood of the cpu even slowing down a tad, is slim to none? You're talking about the card taking a load off of the cpu? When he installs the sound card he will have to install the software. Which actually uses up more CPU cycles. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's just the way I see it.

You do also realise that the CPU cycles are still used up on motherboard sound drivers, no?... There is a difference, trust me, and I've tried many onboard sound chips, and to be honest, the sound is terrible.
Even my old Creative Sound Blaster Live tends to throw them out of the water quality wise, even without all the surround speakers support.

If you don't believe me fine, and I feel sorry for you believing your music sounds good, even if you are not a die hard music enthusiast...

nice joe! i hope you ordered next day shipping so you don't have the suspense kill you =p
