I believe he wants a full copy of it. But, Im sure you can "get" a repair copy too.

Ok, just an update for you, I found an image of my xp install that i had from before the issue started. I tried that and still no go. I did not let it do any updates before trying (auto-updates for everything is turned off). So now i'm really confused.

I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point. Sorry. I would honestly say edit the hosts file and consider it done. That's what it's there for.

yeah... something major mostly likely withthat network is going on. If an image from the pre-problem times didn't fix it, idk what would. It was essentially a reformat.

Sounds like something on the router side. Does your router have any DNS options that you can edit to add Newegg to?
