LAN party equipment

kay, well i suppose i'll go with the bring your own. but i read something about electricity, thats a concern for me too. is it safe to fill a 6-socket power strip with towers and monitors? :p

depends on the computer, i would put a high end with an low end on one 6-socket in an outlet.
Each outlet should have 1 6-socket.
Your electricity might go up a lot.

It's safe, but you could end up tripping the breaker (or blowing a fuse).

You can consume about 1800W of power off of a standard North American circuit. Computers can consume anywhere between 50W and 300W typically, depending on how power efficient and high end it is (Some can even draw more). Monitors also draw a fair amount of power too. Get over the 1800W number and nobody will have power.
