Hey guys, I'm stuck.. I have found two computers around the same price range... But I don't know which one to choose...

Computer One, [image]
Comes With 17" FLATSCREEN LCD MONITOR
DUAL CORE 1.8 Overclocked to 3.0Ghz
OCZ 1GB DDR2 PC26400 800MHZ
230GB MAXTOR SATA 2 HARDDRIVE
Nvidia GEFORCE 8600GT 256mb
ASUS P5NE SLI MOTHERBOARD
DVD RW

Pre-loaded,
OFFICE 2003
WINDOWS MEDIA CENTRE

Computer Two, [image]
Intel Pentium 4.3Ghz Hyperthread Processor
1GB DDR2 RAM
320GB HARDDRIVE (2x 160GB HDs)
ATI X700
UNKOWN MOTHERBOARD BUT I KNOW IT HAS 4 RAM SLOTS AND EASLY UPGRADABLE
DUAL-LAYER DVD RW

Pre-loaded XP
Office 07

They're both $400... But which one should I choose?

Thanks,

Dylan! :D

Btw, I already have a "22 so the "17 screen isn't that badly needed...

It's overclocked though.. is that bad...

Can anyone help?

not always, an Pentium D is worse than a Pentium 4 in some cases.

In this day and age you are gonna want the dual core over the single. And why would the dual core version of the same processor perform worse? That would only apply to single-threaded applications where the Pentium D has a lower clock speed.

Teny is right, Pentium D can be worse in some cases, I read online that the Pentium D is incredibly inefficient. I would still go for PC1, more ram, better graphics etc.
