I've had 3 wd caviar hd's die within 2 years. I would worry more about wd than hitachi. LOL
I've never had a problem with any of my samsung drives.

No, not physical errors like crunching. Just software errors like missing DLL and system files.

yer the seagate looks like a good option , i have an 80gb seagate 7200:10 drive in my rig has been working perfect since i installed it

and yer i would avoid hitachi never heard anything good about their disks

Aparently their enterprise stuff (likeSCSI drives) are good, though (Im talking about Hitachi)
