I have a compaq 6715s laptop, it has windows vista installed, AMD Turion 64 *2 processor, 1 gb ram etc... Now the problem is that it's displays a blank white screen, the only way i get rid of it is by pressing alt-f4. I want to permanently get rid of it. Pls help me. Thank you.

Sounds like a virus, try a virus scan with Norton of F-Secure, or whatever you might have

It sounds like it's a process. Go to task manager and figure out what process it is... Or maybe the best thing to do is Start -> Run -> type Msconfig and uncheck all your start up programs.... Restart and see if it pops up or not....
