Spybot Search and Destroy
and SUPERAntispyware.

And CCCleaner too!!!

I use:

-AVG 8.0; I run daily scans at noon and I keep it on at all times. Check for updates every day.
-Spybot S&D; This is generally off. If I feel like my computer is running slow, I open it up, check for updates, and run them.
-CCleaner; It does automatic scans during boot to wipe off temporary data. If I feel like my computer is slow, I run registry scans. I keep updated at all times.

Unfortunately, all of this is a waste if you can't practice safe web-browsing. Try to avoid mischievous-looking websites. Read the urls before you click them.
