I have an old skool Dell

i was wondering if i could save the motherboard and processor, DVD/CD drive, and maybe power, and still be able to build a pc.

i have picked on newegg.com the remaining parts id need and have listed them below

would this be possible with the motherboard and processor?

i think i have duel processors to because in device manager under processor it gives me 2 of the same, here ill put a picture of it

Get a new motherboard and processor, or at least just a new motherboard, so You can upgrade the CPU later, unless you want to wait for nehalem. Dell won't let you overclock, and the CPU is quite old, although I have a P4 3.4GHz, and it works fine.
 
yeah, looks like its the old CPU and RAM.
you would need a new mobo for the parts you selected.
So you are pretty much starting a new build
 
That's an old socket 478. I say get a new motherboard and processor. Your current motherboard won't take the DDR2 RAM that you selected. You ay want to wait until mid-November for nehalem, or, at least for the prices on current technology to go down.
