If a CPU has a higher FSB is it better?

Should I get a CPU with 1333mhz for the FSB or one with 1600mhz?

Does the FSB have anything to do with the speed (mhz) of the RAM?

1333MHz quad pumped = 333MHz FSB = DDR 667
1600MHz quad pumped = 400MHz FSB = DDR 800

You can overclock it yourself, just go with whatever's cheaper. The pick of the bunch at the moment is the Q9550 I think.

And what is AMD's relation with FSB and the Cache..I heard they don't require a high FSB or cache or something..why is that?

So does that mean that all ram over ddr800 is pointless and a waste of money cos you cant get a higher fsb of 1600 can u, unless u bring a duel core to 1600, therefor the fsb would be 800, does it work like that?

All core 2 processors are quad-pumped. They access the memory controller 4 times per cycle. The listed FSB is the total frequency in which they access the cycle. IMO they only do this for marketing purposes. You find the actual speed of the CPU by multiplying the frequency of one access time by the multiplier. The RAM is also a marketing scheme. They double the access speed because it's DDR (Double Data Rate, meaning, in simple term, a two-way street). Systems run most stable at 1:1 FSB to RAM ratios, however it's not necessary to have this ratio. AMD's are different. They don't have the FSB limit, but they still have a limit. I believe it's much higher, I'm not quite sure of the figure. I want to say 1200MHz.

And I just divide the HT speed by 2 and that's the amount of speed my RAM can be?
