problem in local server

i have installed local server on my machine but that message appear when i try to use some php files in the web pages

Could you please share more about what kind of server you have, what software? Are you browsing the /www/ directory or are you just trying to execute the php files?

Are you trying to access it VIA the web server, or just double clicking on it? While that is not the error I would expect you to get nomatter which one of those you did, you need it to be parsed by PHP before it will execute the code..
