Well I just stumbled upon a chunk of money I didn't know what sitting around so time to upgrade my computer.

I also saw that newegg has the AMD Athlon64 X2 3GHz dual-core for $75, so I think I'm going to start from there.

I need help with the motherboard and Ram. I've been out of the computer game for a while now and things are very confusing for me. I'm looking for a mother board with good onboard graphics that will handle bluray disks and light gaming.

Let me know what you guys would pick for a $300-400 setup including CPU (the 3ghz amd?) MB, RAM, Hard Drive, and PSU. I already have an ATX case...

I wouldn't go for a computer these days without having a dedicated gpu, even for what you want to accomplish. Blu-ray playback without a gpu can get very choppy. If I were you, I'd go with this rig:
The AMD Athalon64 X2 6000+ (the one you saw on newegg)
RAM
Mother Board
GPU
PSU
HDD
Blu-ray
I would trust a computer like this, but as you can see from my sig I'm a gamer and I would not be satisfied with a pc like this. You can get better parts than these, but I'm trying to save you dough. I'm sure this setup will be able to play Bluray perfectly and be a faster than average computer. Hope this helps!

why not just put that money into a savings account in case something bad happens and you needed the money? its better to have back up money than have to get a loan.
Of course, unless you already have some back up money.

After looking around I think I've decided on this:

If I need to I will add a crossfire GPU. Does anyone have a link to one of these. I think I need a 3650 or something like that. How does it all look?

Total after shipping comes to: $386.52

Ahh that's right. I see that now. I'm pretty sure that was my original intention but then I followed a link for the Sony one through dealnews.com and got sidetracked. Thanks for the help!

For 500 you can find a very decent computer, make a new thread about a build, luckily for me my new rig I am going to build is awesome, i got a cheap but good gpu from my friend, he's selling it to me for 60$ I already got a power supply, and a cd/DvD drive too and free ram! it's awesome!
