i recently installed XP onto my HDD, and i was wondering whats a good program to make (split) a partition from my XP HDD, and not wipe the OS.
I want to install Vista on a second partition and have a dual boot.

The biggest program out there is Symantec's PartitionMagic, although it is not free. For a free program, you may find one via a Google search or a site like download.com.

Cant you just do that inside windows? In Disk management or something like that?

Not on the drive that has windows on it.

G-Parted is a great free program that has always worked for me. Just burn the image to a disk and boot off of it and you're golden.

I agree with celegorm, Gparted is the way to go. It's free, linux, and it boots before the operating system so it's great for recovering. It worked when partition magic wouldn't even recognize my partition as healthy, kinda odd considering everything works fine and it was the one that caused the problem.
