internet problems

my internet keeps going out and i have to unplug my modem and router then plug it back in and it works... its going out like 4-5 times a night... is this a modem problem, router problem, or on there side problem?

I used to have the same problem with streaming video/audio with my linksys router. You wouldn't happen to have a Linksys would you? If you do I think the problem was blamed on the new firmware and you can rollback the firmware to stop it, but I have no idea where to find that.
