CPU Heatsink question....

ok ive never heard or seen this done but is there a way to use a regular PC CPU Heatsink on my laptop... i know ive been talking alot about my laptop lately, and i believe all of my problems are solved by cooling the CPU more... Im going to be putting some heatsink compound on it later because mine is fairly dried up now... but i would also like to see about getting a PC heatsink and use it... right now my laptop bottom is off exposing the MB and everything and is being used as a regular desktop pc... so if theres a way to do this i will leave the bottom off so i can use the laptop more until i get my PC built... any and all advice is appreciated

I doubt it. Desktop heatsinks are too big to fit into laptops. What you could do is get a laptop cooling station.

It will help a little. They aren't too expensive either.

yeah i know theyre too big... but like i said i have it sitting upside down with the bottom off... i have no use for the screen because i have it attached to a wide screen monitor...

You could just point a few fans at it, I guess. It's not exactly easy to cool a laptop, haha.
