Laptop has stopped playing dvds

Those drives are very small. So it wouldnt take a very hard hit. Mine is kinda flimsy when it comes out. I hold the end when putting a disc in. Dont want to break it.

Hi Guys

No i haven't dropped my laptop it just stopped working one day. When i put a dvd in and go to my computer, check the dvd drive it shows that there is no disk in there, when there is, even when i go into the properties of the drive, it is also showing that there is no disk in the drive and it won't play. I have also done a driver update and it still wont work.
I really appreciate all your help guys.

Reedo, try using a CD cleaner. It might just do the trick instead of getting too technical!

Sounds like your DVD drive is dying. How old is the laptop?
