Is there a way to block a microsoft update from appearing in my system tray telling me I need to update it. I don't even want my system to know it is available. he update has to do with a X86 bit system where my OS is X64 bit.

TIA

XP is the OS.

Go to Control Panel-click Security Center, then at the bottom where it says "Manage Security Settings For:" click Automatic Updates. There you can change the settings.

If you have your updates set to notify but don't automatically download or install, click the update shield in the tray. In the pop-up window select the second option (not Express install) click next (OK?). In the next widow, deselect the update you don't want and click the box below stating something like "do not offer this update again".

Actually, I guess I need it so here is what is happening and how can I fix this please?

Trying to install MS .NEt framework 3.0 X86 (kb928416) but it fails. How can I fix this issue?

TIA
