build advice

windows wont fully see all 4 gigs of your ram
so you can cut that back to 3 and you'll be fine
if you want to save a little $ where you can
and a 1000W psu might be a little excessive
the other guys can correct me if im wrong
but i think a 850 W or so psu will do fine
and is less $
i suggest this psu
Antec 850W

There are a few ways to save some cash, like the above poster suggested, but damn that machine looks good. What are you plannin' on running on that thing?

I agree, there are ways to save money because some of those parts are overkill. For exemple, you could definitely save some money on the PSU, one Phenom 9950 and HD 4870 CF are not going to need 1000W. The PCP&C Silencer 750W is an excellent unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703009

Also, you should get 1066 RAM instead of 800 to make use of the Phenom's IMC, you can actually get 4GB of 1066 for less than your current kit, 8GB is really not needed: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220314

Also, why not go with the HD 4870 X2 instead of two HD 4870s? It would mean less heat, more VRAM and it's slightly faster than 4870 CF: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129114

And why a retail copy of Vista? OEM 64bit would be much cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116493

Looks good., Cut back on the ram and the PSU. like others said
Not to jack this thread but -
How is the case, hdd and monitor free?

Its going to be used for gaming, editing and using some graphics programs(photoshop, after effects.) that's why i plan on the 8 gigs of RAM, Vista can see all of it

ok i'll look into the faster RAM but i still want the 8gigs

i thought i had read that the CF was faster, I'll look into that

From what I see you're missing a CPU.

weird it was there yesterday, I plan on getting this one

thanks for the input

OEM does not allow you to reinstall. Get Retail.
This happen recently?
:D

Retail copys give you the option of installing either 32bit or 64bit. I suggest just buying an OEM 64bit copy, as it would be much cheaper and only the 64bit version of Vista can address all 4/8GB whatever you end up getting.
