Hi, I had some school work on my pen drive. I back my pen drive up every now and then incase of pen drive failure. Well guess what. Pen drive failed. sh!t. typical. I thought is might just be the USB port (i have just got a new motherbaord), so i plugged in a mouse - the mouse doesn't work anymore. fried. bust. knackerd. the pen drive doesn't detect in any other pc in the house . No windows drive popup crap. WHAT DO I DO?

The USB ports all work fine now, after pulling out the front panel connector and putting it back in (it was all correctly wired up okay anyway).

I lost atleast 3 hours work if NOT more. A flash drive is solid state technology, it's probaly still on there, just perhaps some of the PCB board components are mucked up, but the flash memory itself might be ok. Is there anything I can do? I just want about less than 20mb of files back. PLEASE.

What caused it a voltage or current spike?
