Which Mobo is good for gaming?

I don't think motherboards really matter for gaming do they? Just get one that accepts all your components well and is very consistent/stable. Now if you were going to OC then it would matter a little more.

those are very outdated motherboards that he listed, so yes, motherboards do matter, IIRC, those motherboards top out at 800 FSB and have AGP instead of PCI-E, both of which which would limit gaming...

Don't get an Nvidia chipset unless you plan on going SLI. I wouldn't build now until Nehalem comes out.

with his budget, I would build now, he's looking for a budget gaming system, price drops won't affect his build much...

with what he has, I would replace...

the motherboard...GIGABYTE GA-P31-S3G - $75 shipped

the cpu...E7200 - $120 shipped

the gpu depends on what type of gaming, but this is a decent little card...SAPPHIRE HD 3850 - $100 shipped

if you can find a 9600GT or an 8800GT for about the same price I would get either one of those instead...
