Is Windows Vista really this inaccurate at measuring battery levels?

Actually it's perfect on my laptop,i guess some hardware doesnt work as well as others.

Yeah,Vista tends to have alot of flukes LOL!

It's how you set the battery alarms not vista itself. Besides the OS pulls the battery data from the motherboard. Garbage in, garbage out.
I like to mess with some people in that I reset the low battery alarm to do nothing. But set the critical battery alarm to have the laptop just go to sleep. Around 10% down from full charge.
Drives them nuts...

We unplugged it at around 85% and it said there was 2 and a half hours left, which seems pretty accurate.

im at 31% and have 54 mins left. seems pretty accurate to me. its about the only thing that hasnt let me down so far on vista. then again after reinstalling it with the disk dell gave me it works fine now (maybe because it was an actual vista install and not a preloaded with dell crap one)
