Car Thread!

There was a 98(?) 2.5RS going for $8k around here...
A 95 240SX with a new motor for $7k
Seen plenty of WRX's around 2002 for + or - $10k.
Integra with a Type-R motor swap for 11-ish
Old M3's for just over 10.

Just gotta look at all your alternatives. It will probably be slightly different with your area though.

Buying used is always an option. You can always find E36 M3's in great condition for roughly $9-15,000.

They still run pretty well. Mine has roughly 157k miles on it and still pulls like a champ. I still wouldn't mind an engine rebuild and internal parts upgrade, but that's beside the point. :p

All of the above :p

Haha a balance pretty much. I'd rank it like this though, from most to least important:
Speed
Reliability
Looks
Fuel Economy

The Infiniti G35 is actually surprisingly cheap used. An '05 can be found for like 10k, with a 6 speed manual and 298 bhp.

If I were in your shoes I would really narrow it down to just 4-cyl turbos or high compression, or efficient 6-cyl if you want decent fuel economy. Otherwise you will really be paying out the ass for fuel. I don't drive much and it still hits me hard just being an econobox 4-cyl. lol

Well let's see...

According to fueleconomy.gov, here's some numbers:
Pontiac GTO - 18MPG combined (V8)
G35/350Z - 20MPG combined (V6)
SRT4 - 22MPG combined (turbo 4cyl)
WRX - 20MPG combined (turbo 4cyl)

So really, I'm not seeing much difference here unless I go with the SRT-4.
