Hi, I'm new to the forums and not extremely computer savvy, but I need help with a problem with my laptop. It is a Compaq Presario F500 with Vista . On the front/bottom of the computer is my wireless card, which has a thin button you can slide back and forth to turn the wireless capabilities on, I guess. Well, when it is on, the light on the device is blue, and orange while off. Yesterday morning, when I turned my computer on, the light was orange, and has been so, even when the button is in the on position. So currently, I have absolutely no wireless on my laptop. I don't know if it is from an update, or something I installed (I can't think of anything I have even installed or downloaded recently, but ya never know.)

Sorry for the essay, I just wanted to be as specific as possible to help you guys help me. :)

Thanks,
John

How old is it? Maybe you can return it?
Otherwise, try updating drivers. I would think the drivers.
My laptop has an extra port to put a new wireless card in, if yours has one, maybe you can purchase a new one.
