Im running an older computer i got from bestbuy called a VPR matrix...

I use protools to record my music. It works decent but runs slow. If I believe I only have 512 mb of ram.. If I add another gig in there will that make things run super fast???

Also adding a GIG will give me more Storage space right?

Ram very often help programs run faster. If, when running ProTools, you press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, go to processes, and find protools.exe (or similar), then tell us what the "Mem Usage" number is, then we might be able to advise as to whether or not more ram would help...

Protools is an ENORMOUS program in ram usage. Yes adding a gig of ram will help it run faster, but hardly super fast.

Also, adding ram will not give you any added storage space, you need a bigger hard drive to do that. Think of ram like short term memory and your hard drive like long term memory. No data is actually stored on your ram, only program information that helps it run.
