Unless you go with a Pentium 4, or a Pentium D, I doubt your motherboard would handle anything else. The Core 2's are deffinatly out of the question, and I don't think the Pentium Dual Cores will work as it's based off of the Core 2's.

This is sort of embarassing. But i just figured out its not an Hp, I was thinking of my dads laptop. Its a compaq presario.

Looking at the specs, just buy a new system. It's a socket 478 motherboard. You'll have a hard time finding anything new for it.

Well, I wasnt really wanting to spend alot of money. But if i was going to buy a new system, Do you know a good(maybe cheaper) system that would be good for gaming?
