I want to build a new rig for multi-media usage. What is a good/decent motherboard and processor combo?

whats your budget? get a 8400 gs or something similar there meant to run hd videos and multimedia work, it reuns better than the 8600 gt for much cheaper, a good 2 gb of ram and a 2.2 + dual core would be fine i would recommend AMD but they will all work.

well i have pretty much every other part to this build...(parting out my old machine) Just needed to know if there was a good/semi cheap processor and motherboard for multimedia use.

meh, maybe a asus? go amd for the proce difference its worth it you want quad or dual?

a better board maybe but the processsor is great and a hs is really needed.

np, still not 5 bars lol, anyways make sure you buy a heat sink to it will not come with one.
