...my new build to last me out till .. well, as long as possible really. So here it is...

Processor: Q6600 "Energy Efficient".... I was going to go for a dual core processor .. but I really wanted to try out one of the quads for myself.

Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro

Memory: G.Skillz 4gb http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-022-GS

Power Supply: Corsair TX 650W http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&tool=3

Monitor: Samsung 24" (bit pricey for my liking) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-054-SA&tool=3

Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

Video Card: HIS Radeon HD 4870 X2

I have the card right now next to me just sitting there ^^ .. it is freakin huge

I'll be using the same case which is ... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... Black Midi Tower Gaming Case - Black (No PSU)

A pretty bog standard case indeed, but it does the trick..

If you see any conflictions please say! :)

nice, make sure you post some pics when its built.

found this so figured its a good timne to post lolz.

Sounds awesome and I'm sure that card will make you happy. I'm very much satisfied (and then some) with my 4870, so I'm sure you'll have all the graphics processing power you'll need for a long time. The rest of the build looks good, also. I'm enjoying my quad build, though I do wish that it had a slightly higher clock speed for some of the older games that can't make use of all the cores.

Definitely agree with ace777, you have to post pictures when it's done :D

Aye .. certainly was a good time to use it, made me 'hoot'. Hehe, get it? .. hoot... *ahem* but yea, I most certianly will post pictures up ^^.

I agree Denth, anyone currently with a 4800 card is going to be with it for a long time I reckon, I hear the temps on overclocking quads can get quite high too.. but I probably won't OC' it to a great extent anyways ^^

Got my Phenom 9950 to run at 3GHz and only rise about 2-3C, though that was with an after-market Scythe cooler on it, so you should be fine. Are you buying the CPU from Overclockers? Because you can get their Q6600 that's guaranteed to overclock to 3.3GHz with after-market cooling and a decent motherboard.

I got the following reply when I asked about it:

Might be worth looking in to?

Sweet, does look promising. The motherboard I think is definately fine, just after market cooler... is there one you'd recommend? Obviously after all this gear I'm a little bit tighter on the cash ^^ .. I've never purchased a cooler before.

Cheers.

Well, they recommend the Tuniq Tower, which is probably good. I use the Scythe Ninja Mini, though there are probably better things out there. I've heard good things about the Zalman coolers.
