Molex Fans

So I was looking on newegg for fans with molex power connectors only to find that there weren't any. Is there such a thing as a molex to 3/4-pin power connector? I don't really want to buy a Fan Controller, if I do it will only be for 2 fans, so I'd just buy a PCI one, which I'll look into later.

What size fans do you want? My Antec's and Yate Loons both have 3/4 pin adapters. The only time you don't see it is in fans that have a higher power draw like 38MM think fans or higher RPM 25MM thick fans.

Ok, my motherboard has 1 4-pin connector. This will be used for a 92mm fan that I plan on mounting on my heatsink. However, I want to add an intake and an exhaust fan to my case, but there's no more 3/4 pin connectors, so I need to be able to power the fan through a molex connector.

edit: the 2 case fans will be 120mm. Also my heatsink is 92x92, so I think a 92mm fan should fit perfectly.

What size are the case fans?

The 4-pin connector on the motherboard is a PWM fan, make sure to get one that has that kind of plug. Most PWM connectors are backwards compatible with 3-pin fans, but not all.

I've never heard of PWM. What is that? Additionally, there is a 3-pin connector by my PCI-E x16 port, so I guess I could mount the back fan and connect it through there. That would only leave the front fan without a connector. Or I can just mount the front fan, connect it to the 4-pin and leave the heatsink without a fan. I won't be OCing, so do you think it could be a problem?

PWM stands for pulse width modulation. I'm not too knowledgeable about this, but I'm pretty sure they control RPM's based on your CPU or other hardware's temperature.

That depends on the heatsink. Heatsinks with wider fin-spacing will work better fanless. I would just plug the CPU and rear fan into the motherboard if possible, and run the front fan via 4-pin molex. Most fans come with these adapters anyway.

For the 120MM fans Yate Loons are good while being easy on the wallet. If you do go with these fans, make sure you get them from Petra's, they are the only ones who deal with Yate Loon directly. There are lots of fake ones floating around.
