Sweet! How long have you had it? Has it given you any trouble? I LOVE mine. I can't hold the hard drive failure against it...it's quite old in the world of puters.

well do you know what SATA is?
it is the way the HDD connects to the mobo
and its faster than IDE

the other HDDs are more then likely IDE instead of SATA

for you to know for sure
you would have to get the old HDD out
and take a look

but im not a laptop tech
so there could be a different way
not very sure

if it's an older laptop, it's more than likely IDE...

Yea...I have a vague idea what they mean...I just dunno which one Ol' Trusty uses. The thing is surely not new...it's probably 4-5 years old now so I'd imagine it's not the SATA.

What do you think the odds are of getting anything off the old drive?
