1 quick question whats better? For gaming that is.

AMD-8450 Phenom/x3 Triple Core/2100mhz/3600FSB
OR
AMD-Athlon X2 (6000+) Dual Core AM2 CPU

The 6000+ would be better unless you'll be OC'ing. The X3s are hitting slightly higher clock speeds than the X4s and a 3GHz Phenom will be a lot faster than a 3GHz 64 X2.

6000+ if you won't be overclocking.
The X3 if you will be overclocking.

sorry for stealing the thread, but..
if i buy an X2 5400+ with aftermarket HSF, would it be better than the Phenom 9600 with Stock HSF?
or will the Phenom 9600 be better than the 5400+
there might be OC once in awhile, but not much.

well now day's most game's support at most dual core, if you can get the 5400 with a GOOD HSF and overclock it to run stable it will out perform the 9600 but if you want program's and all that to run faster then go with the quadcore

i'd personally go with the 6000 because of the higher clock speed and how most game's dont even support more than 2 core's.
