not bad for a $150 card, and yeah, it arrived today, I'm about to set it up now...

thats some pretty good FPS.
i only get like an average of 10 fps on the crysis benchmark on very high without AA turned on. But i play at 1680x1050 resolution, that might be the problem.... or my other components like my cpu....

is the demo more computer friendly...? it has to be, right...? I was playing it on my 8600GT and getting 20-30 fps and it hardly ever dropped under 10...

were you running the bechmark or the game?
i never ran the game with my 8800GT yet, i only ran the benchmark
what setting were you using and what OS?

Not to steal a thread but:

I am very unfamiliar with Dx10;

I play Crysis on all High settings on the box in my sig and I usually sit around 30 fps.

In the directx9 benchmark at 1900x1200 I averaged ~46 fps with Very High settings.

In dx10 I averaged about 13 fps..why the loss in performance? The looks weren't even comparably impressive.

Any way I can designate what my game runs in? I am sure it automatically is set to Dx10 but I'd love drop it to Dx9 and boost the performance..same for UT3 and other Fast Paced FPS's...my new box just doesn't seem to be handling these games, especially in Dx10 nearly to my expectations.

You need to install the 1.2 patch. Performance difference between DX9 and DX10 is negligible.

i applied the patch and started to get an average of 13 fps.
then i ran it with max AA on, and in about 5-10 of the benchmark tool, my computer restarted....

hey Teny, google the crysis demo and download it (it's big though), then play it and see what you get, btw, the high settings look pretty good...
