Well I was just searching around on new egg..

This is the proc I purchased $189.99:

Isn't the 200$ one worse then what I purchased? Or am I missing something heh

well one is made by a different core.
the one you bought is wolfdale, and the other is conroe
and it seems the voltages are different, the one that cost more has a higher voltage, which means you can overclock it more since you have to up the voltage to make it run smoother and be more stable.
i could be wrong since i dont use intel.

Go with the E8500. It will be faster overall. It also has more cache, which will also help with speed.

You can't judge how well these will overclock just by comparing their default voltage. A lower VID may give you a better overclock, but you will never find out unless you actually try.
